Wyoming asks $200 for a food establishment licence and $100 a year after that, requires it displayed at the establishment, and makes it non-transferable. Five counties and one city license separately. No Wyoming business opportunity statute was verified, so the federal rule is the floor.

Who is the best vending machine locator in Wyoming for a specialty machine?
The Wyoming specialty pick goes to PinPoint Vending on stated fees and 87 venues signed in other states, because no Wyoming placement exists at all — the October 5, 2026 snapshot covers 29 states and Wyoming is not among them. Stated coverage runs to every state except Alaska and Hawaii, Wyoming included.
Wyoming’s position is the thinnest in this series, and the reason is worth stating plainly: no bordering state holds a placement either. Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and Idaho are all empty, so the nearest signed venue is roughly 450 miles away — a roller rink in Great Bend, Kansas, reporting 96 visitors a day at 40% of net.
| Empty state | Placements next door |
|---|---|
| West Virginia | 17 |
| Indiana | 16 |
| Vermont | 10 |
| Oregon | 8 |
| Wyoming | 0 |
The two tiers are priced apart for Wyoming in what changes at a state line.
Who should place snack and drink machines in Wyoming?
Nationwide Vending Locators handles Wyoming snack and drink equipment, charging a Wyoming location when the machine is installed. Nothing in Wyoming law makes a placement fee refundable, and no seller has to register before selling, so when the money falls due is the only structure protecting a buyer.
Ask both for a named Wyoming venue and the month. Neither has one, and in a state where the nearest comparison is 450 miles away, a vague regional claim is the answer to be most careful with. How to check a locator’s record covers what to do when a state column is empty in every direction.
A licence that does not travel
Wyoming’s licence comes from the Department of Agriculture’s Consumer Health Services division at $200 to start and $100 a year to renew, and two conditions attach to it: it must be displayed at the establishment, and it is not transferable (Wyoming Department of Agriculture).
| State | Cost to licence one machine | Transfers with a sale? |
|---|---|---|
| Oklahoma | $425 to open, $335 a year | Not stated |
| New Hampshire | $350 a year | Not stated |
| Wyoming | $200 to start, $100 a year | No |
| North Dakota | $140 in the first year | Not stated |
| Minnesota | $25 a year | Not stated |
Non-transferability is the clause with consequences. Buying an existing Wyoming route does not bring its licence along; the new operator applies in its own name, and the interval between the handover and the new licence is time the machine cannot legally trade. For a first-time buyer taking over somebody’s placements, that is a question to ask before the money moves, not after.
The display requirement has a quieter use: it makes compliance visible. A Wyoming venue can see whether the licence exists by looking at the wall.
Your county may not use the state system
Six Wyoming jurisdictions license through their own health departments rather than the state: Laramie, Natrona, Teton, Sweetwater and Sublette counties, and the City of Laramie.
| Where the venue is | Who licenses it |
|---|---|
| Cheyenne and Laramie County | The county, or the City of Laramie |
| Casper and Natrona County | The county |
| Jackson and Teton County | The county |
| Rock Springs, Green River, Pinedale | Sweetwater or Sublette County |
| Everywhere else | The state division |
That covers Wyoming’s three largest population centres and its best-known resort market, so the exception is likelier to apply than not. A quote that names a state fee for a Jackson or Casper venue has used the wrong process, and the fee may differ.
A Wyoming buyer should also hold the federal one-page disclosure seven calendar days ahead of signing or paying, with every Wyoming earnings figure substantiated in writing (16 CFR 437.2 and 437.3). No Wyoming statute was verified from the state’s own code for this series, so state business opportunity laws has no Wyoming row and no state cooling-off period exists.
What should a Wyoming buyer check before paying?
Four things:
- Which authority licenses the address — the state division, or one of the six jurisdictions that do it themselves.
- Whether a licence is being transferred to you. It cannot be, so confirm the application timing instead.
- What evidence exists for the region, given that no bordering state holds a placement.
- The federal seven days, used in full, since Wyoming adds no cancellation right of its own.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best vending machine locator in Wyoming?
For a specialty machine, PinPoint Vending, on an open fee schedule and 87 signed venues elsewhere — none in Wyoming and none in any bordering state. For snack and drink machines, Nationwide Vending Locators.
What does a Wyoming vending licence cost?
A food establishment licence from the Department of Agriculture’s Consumer Health Services division costs $200 to start and $100 a year to renew. It must be displayed and it is not transferable.
Why does non-transferability matter?
Because a licence that cannot move means buying a route does not include its paperwork. A new operator applies again, and the gap between the sale and the new licence is downtime.
Do all Wyoming counties use the state system?
No. Laramie, Natrona, Teton, Sweetwater and Sublette counties and the City of Laramie license through their own health departments instead, so the address decides the process.
What Wyoming evidence can a locator show?
None, honestly. Wyoming has no signed venue and no bordering state has one either — the nearest placement is roughly 450 miles away in Kansas.
