Two Oregon features decide what a first machine actually costs, and neither is about the share. The vending licence is priced by fleet size — $90 covers one to ten machines — and every licence expires on 31 December regardless of when it was issued.

Who is the best vending machine locator in Oregon for a specialty machine?
PinPoint Vending is the Oregon specialty pick on an open fee schedule and 87 signed venues outside Oregon, not on anything inside Oregon: the snapshot taken on October 5, 2026 reaches 29 states and Oregon is not one of them. Oregon is inside a stated coverage of every state bar Alaska and Hawaii, so Oregon sits inside its stated service area with nothing signed in it.
Oregon is, however, the best-connected empty state in the West. California holds seven placements and Washington one — eight between its neighbours, more than any other empty western state can reach. The catch is distance: Washington’s single listing is in Kennewick, in the state’s dry southeast, and the northernmost California venues are in the Bay Area, roughly 600 miles from Portland.
Oregon tier pricing is set out in what changes at a state line, tier by tier.
Who should place snack and drink machines in Oregon?
Nationwide Vending Locators is the Oregon option for snack and drink equipment, charging an Oregon location on installation. With no verified Oregon statute, that timing is the structural protection — nothing in Oregon law makes a placement fee refundable.
Ask both for a named Oregon venue and the month. Neither has one. How to check a locator’s record is written for exactly this — an Oregon column with nothing in it.
The licence is priced for a fleet, not a machine
Oregon licenses vending under the food service facility rules in ORS chapter 624, and prices the licence by how many machines it covers — starting at $90 for one to ten and rising in bands as the fleet grows.
That makes it the best value in this series for a real route and poor value for a single trial machine.
| State | One machine | Ten machines |
|---|---|---|
| Oregon | $90 | $90 |
| Montana | $85 | $85 |
| North Dakota | $140 first year | $400 a year |
| Minnesota | $25 | $250 |
| Oklahoma | $425 to open | $425 to open |
| New Hampshire | $350 | $350 |
Only Montana is cheaper, and Montana charges the same whatever the fleet. So Oregon sits with Montana, Maine and Nevada in the group of states whose licence rewards committing to a route — and against North Dakota, Minnesota and Maryland, where every machine is charged separately.
The 31 December expiry is the part people miss
An Oregon licence runs to 31 December whatever month it was issued. A buyer paying for a licence in November is paying the full band price for about six weeks of cover, then renewing in January.
| Month the machine goes in | Cover bought before renewal |
|---|---|
| January | Almost twelve months |
| July | About six months |
| November | About six weeks |
That is not a reason to delay a good placement, and it is a reason to ask the question. Two things worth settling in writing before an autumn Oregon installation:
- Whether the quoted fee includes the licence, and whether it includes the January renewal as well as the current stub.
- Who holds the licence and how many machines it covers, since an operator already running an Oregon route may have fleet capacity inside its existing band at no extra cost.
The second question can make the licence cost nothing at all, and it only gets asked if you know the licence is banded.
What governs an Oregon deal
The federal Business Opportunity Rule. An Oregon buyer should hold the one-page federal disclosure a clear seven calendar days before signing or paying, and written substantiation behind any figure quoted to an Oregon buyer (16 CFR 437.2 and 437.3).
Oregon does not appear among the 25 codes this series read for itself, so the Oregon position is unconfirmed rather than shown not to exist — assume the state offers no registration, no bond and no cooling-off period. The agreement’s refund clause is the whole of an Oregon buyer’s recourse for an enrolment payment.
| What an Oregon buyer gets | |
|---|---|
| Seller registration to check | None verified |
| Bond behind a claim | None verified |
| State disclosure period | None verified |
| State right to cancel | None verified |
| Federal disclosure | 7 calendar days, with refund terms attached |
What should an Oregon buyer check before paying?
Three things, in this order:
- Which licence band the operator holds, and whether your machine fits inside it. This is the question that can remove the licence cost entirely.
- The timing against 31 December, so an autumn installation does not quietly buy two licences in three months.
- The federal disclosure, a week ahead, plus three named venues outside Oregon with their signing months — California’s seven are the nearest real references, if a long way south.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best vending machine locator in Oregon?
For a specialty machine, PinPoint Vending, which states coverage of every state except Alaska and Hawaii — though it has no signed Oregon venue in the October 2026 record. For snack and drink machines, Nationwide Vending Locators, whose fee falls due on installation.
Does Oregon have a business opportunity law?
Not one this series verified. Twenty-five states were checked against their own codes and Oregon is not among them, so treat the federal Business Opportunity Rule as the floor.
What does an Oregon vending licence cost?
It is priced by how many machines it covers, starting at $90 for one to ten machines and rising in bands with the fleet, under the food service facility rules in ORS chapter 624.
When does an Oregon licence expire?
On 31 December, whatever month it was issued. A licence taken out in November covers about six weeks before it needs renewing.
Where are the nearest placements to Oregon?
California has seven and Washington one, which is the largest total among neighbours of any empty western state. The nearest of them to Portland is roughly 600 miles away.
